DELAYS

there have been a lot of bumps in the road in the past few weeks. the most annoying one was my computer trying to not work anymore. alas the good people at MIKEY'S got it working again. so, i haven't had a chance to put together new posts i had wanted to do. in the meantime-enjoy this little guy. i believe he is a real live dog. i have named him mr. franklin delano higgins monopoly. yep. enjoy

WHITE WALTZ

celine's spring 2011 collection continues its minimalist reign of fashion.

IT ALL COULD HAVE BEEN A DREAM

chanel's spring collection was inspired by the movie LAST YEAR IN MARIENBAD, a beautiful dream like mystery of a movie filled with fragments of love loss or love that was never gained. it's the story of a man searching for his love which he may have or may have not actually met. it takes place in a luxurious chateau complete with fountains, a garden and a beautiful wardrobe originally created by coco herself. it seemed like a really fitting modern interpretation of the movie. it sort of looks like a see-through mirage of thoughts and memories.

LANVIN LANVIN

as always alber elbaz's collections for lanvin are delightful. a little bit flowy and a little bit dramatic. i was reading an interview where he said he didn't consider himself cool or designing for cool women, but that's exactly the sort of thinking that leads it to be undoubtedly cool. sometimes lanvin doesn't always look that wearable, but all of these outfits looks so easy and every day that it's amazing!

MAXI MINIMALISM

i normally don't think twice about jil sander. the clothes are classic and interchangeable and all that jazz, but i don't usually have an instant reaction to them. i also don't feel much when it comes to the spring runway collections. i love fall and everything it has to offer so, when i start seeing all the white and sheer and short stuff spring usually has to offer i tune out. however, this spring jil sander collection is kinda blowing my mind. the oversized minimalist styles and bright colors are right up my alley and are inspiring ideas of spring dress. the striped dresses are something i would love to own and they would probably have to be steamed off of me due to overwearing.

i love everything about the top photo. this particular outfit is what i am definitely going to strive to attain. it's so crisp, cool and lady it's great.

RACHEL COMEY

every season there is a pair of rachel comey shoes that i long for. this just happens to be the pair in mind right now. something about them that looks both bad ass and regal which is what i aspire to ( at least in attitude). plus ever since i saw alison mosshart in hers, the image of flashy non flashy coolness has stuck with me. sometimes the whole outfit can be a little plain but it's the extras that make it shine.

here are some more images from the resort collections that i really like. i am dreaming of ways to incorporate it into my fall wardrobe. i think summer is such an anti fashion season as i really struggle with what to wear and not being to hot and all that. i would like to skip summer all together. i know, crazy, but as someone who rarely exposes her arms and legs to the world summer makes it kind of hard to think!

in the last few years resort collections have been people's go to sources for wardrobe filler in between seasons. i personally think it would be crazy and ambitious to try to make spring, fall & resort lines, but damn do some people turn it out. here's some of my faves.

every time i see a new collection by hannah macgibbon for CHLOE my heart skips a little beat. beautiful fabrics, a sense of whimsy, a sense of romance and a dash of nostalgia equal all the things i love about getting dressed everyday. she hasn't failed to disappoint me yet!
