GREAT MINDS...STEVEN BURKE

it's funny when you see something and you're like " hey, but i didn't make that yet!". that's how i felt when i saw images of STEVEN BURKE'S poor little trees. i tried to find out more about him via his website, but it says simply that he is a designer specializing in illustration which i think is a simplification of his work. he's done a lot of work for a lot of people and companies, too. but i really like the poor little trees.

BEAT THE HEAT...

i love going to the movies, but i will definitely say that the over air-conditioned solitude it provides for 2 or so hours is more that worth the ticket price in the summer. i saw INCEPTION a few weeks ago and totally loved it. the costuming, the cast and the brain twists were all spot on. i haven't gravitated towards anything leonardo dicaprio has done in a long time, but this might be changing my mind. plus it has the beautiful marion cotillard and the ever charming joseph gordon-levitt.

it's september 2nd. it's going to be 90 degrees today. i don't understand it. here's some fall things that i want. most of them are from STAND UP COMEDYin portland, oregon. a pretty amazingly curated shop of goods. the shoes are from CREATURES OF COMFORT. rachel comey is killing it with shoes lately. every single season i want a pair of her shoes.

i tend to get a lot of flack from a certain person about liking aronofsky films, which i don't like all of them, but this one looks kinda rad. it stars my favorite french actor-vincent cassel-natalie portman and mila kunis. plus aronofsky is engaged to rachel weisz who i like a lot in film. it's ballet and swan lake and ballerinas possible turning into alter ego swans? sign me up!

JUST LET THIS FEELING END

i am typing this with a mega-migraine due to the humidity in nyc being above 80% today. shouldn't a humidity level that high just equate rain? i think so. in the meantime, here's some things that are easing my brain into better thoughts.

IT'S BEEN SO LONG

it's been a while and for good reason. i just moved. nothing tops a ridiculously hot nyc summer like having to uproot and move your life, work, dog and things and then having to reset up camp all over again. but we did it and i really like my new place. pictures to post after it's finished. but for now, all i want is a little R & R on a beach somewhere. so yes, i want to go to there.
(yea, yea i know the glacier isn't the beach, but seriously? that's natural. that's real life nature keeping an ocean's temperature cool. amazing)
