marimekko (the clothing, the lifestyle) was founded in the early 1950's but somehow always seems to transcend time and feel really modern to me. every season they put out a new crop of clothing, fabric and home goods that maintain relevance amongst contemporary design heavy-hitters. i always troll ebay for marimekko vintage dresses and shirts and whatnot, rob and i have a collection of vintage marimekko fabric and i even bought present-day reprints of designs that crate and barrel sells to make curtains for our old place. needless to say, i am a big fan! i am also a big fan of the new clothing options they have done for fall. kicky, little aline dresses and shirts that are modern interpretations of prints from the 70s. i want each and every one of these. you can get them all HERE
