SHE'S AT IT AGAIN

taking a break amidst the throws of packing my belongings again, i noticed my girl KARIN has been up to no good (i mean nothing but good) and drawing and creating a little book about two of the the things she loves the most...ROMANCE AND ROCK AND ROLL. she makes some of the most badass romantic drawings around and i can't wait to get my hands on one of these guys. if i was in chicago right now i'd be convincing you that smoking does look cool and trying to hunt down as many candy cigarettes as possible to share with you.

SOMETHING'S HAPPENING

STEPHEN EICHHORN is happening, that's what. stephen makes amazing collages and cutouts of nature putting together bits and pieces of plant life here and there to create a new and interesting species to come. he meticulously cuts out leaves, flowers, plants and cats (that's right cats) to put them all back together again in a new creation. he's one of the most prolific busy bees around. he just did a series of large scale prints of his cutouts which means that hopefully now people can get their hands on prints of his work, too. MEOW, MEOW, WHAT?!

i love everything about the top photo. this particular outfit is what i am definitely going to strive to attain. it's so crisp, cool and lady it's great.

SQUIRREL SEEKS CHIPMUNK

today was not looking so great. it's too hot and i am hunting for apartments and printing and sweating. BUT THEN a bright beacon of light came my way in the form of comic relief. david sedaris has a new book coming out (not til september, alas) called SQUIRREL SEEKS CHIPMUNK: A MODEST BESTIARY. what? sedaris takes on telling stories from the point of view of an animal? am i dreaming. did he read my mind? i will wait for it.

MOVING ON UP

i have to move. again. right now i am looking for a new apartment for rob and i and it is challenging. but i will persevere. i am totally excited to move into a new space. i love setting up a home. it might be one of my favorite things. for now i will fool myself that i am going to see these spaces in cuba, vienna and brussels. i was born to be a european. my days are numbered til i become an expatriate.

every season there is a pair of rachel comey shoes that i long for. this just happens to be the pair in mind right now. something about them that looks both bad ass and regal which is what i aspire to ( at least in attitude). plus ever since i saw alison mosshart in hers, the image of flashy non flashy coolness has stuck with me. sometimes the whole outfit can be a little plain but it's the extras that make it shine.

OIL SPILL RELIEF AID
